How we work

Having wealth isn't the same as having a plan.

Busy careers and businesses can leave little time to organise your finances. Pensions from several employers, ISAs, shares, property and perhaps the proceeds of a business, each set up for a good reason, but rarely looked at together.

You stay in control of every decision. Our job is to make each one clear.

  1. 01

    Where you are

We bring together everything you own, including pensions, investments, property, business interests and borrowing, so you can see your whole position in one place.

  2. 02

    Where you want to be

We talk about what you want your wealth to do: the life you want to lead, when you want to step back, and what you would like to do for your family.

  3. 03

    How to get there

We recommend how to organise, invest and pass on your wealth, and explain each recommendation in plain English, including what it costs, so you can decide with confidence.

Wealth management

An ongoing advice relationship.

We build your plan, recommend and oversee the investments within it, and keep both up to date as your life, the tax rules and the markets change.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change in the future.

  • Tax-efficient incomeThe right order to draw on pensions, ISAs and investments.
  • Ongoing investment adviceDiversified, considered, and with risk aligned to your agreed goals.
  • Pensions brought togetherWe consider your goals, preferences, costs and opportunities before making any recommendation.
  • Inheritance plannedGifting, allowances and planning how your wealth passes on. Estate and tax planning are charged separately and are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
  • A named adviserRegular reviews, and someone to call when life changes.

Common questions

Wealth management questions in Tunbridge Wells, answered.

Do you offer financial planning to people living in Tunbridge Wells?

Yes. We offer independent financial planning and wealth management advice to people living in Tunbridge Wells and nearby areas, including Southborough, Rusthall, Langton Green, Speldhurst and Pembury, by Teams video call, telephone or at our office in Tunbridge Wells.

What does an independent financial adviser do?

An independent financial adviser can recommend products from across the whole market, not just a limited range of providers. Armstrong Wealth Ltd is an independent firm based in Tunbridge Wells, so our recommendations are based on what suits you, including keeping what you already have.

What does wealth management include?

An ongoing advice relationship: we build your financial plan, recommend and oversee the investments within it in line with your agreed attitude to risk, and review it with you regularly as your life, the tax rules and markets change.

I've sold my business. What should I do first?

Usually, nothing in a hurry. We start by understanding your whole position, the tax already paid or due, and what you want the money to do, before recommending how to invest it, draw on it or pass it on.

Are the rules on pensions and inheritance tax changing?

Yes. From 6 April 2027, most unused pension funds and pension death benefits are due to be included in the value of an estate for inheritance tax. Death-in-service benefits are excluded, and in most cases pension benefits passing to a spouse or civil partner remain exempt. How this affects you depends on your circumstances, and tax rules can change. If your pension is a large part of what you plan to leave, we can review your plans with you.

Who is your wealth management service for?

People who have built substantial pensions, savings and investments and want a long-term relationship with an independent adviser. If we are not the right fit, we will say so at our first conversation and point you towards help that is.

How much does wealth management cost?

Your first conversation is free. There is an initial advice fee and a fee for ongoing services, when selected. Estate and tax planning are charged separately. Every fee is explained and agreed in writing before any work begins.
